Description
This Ralf Aust razor has a 6/8 carbon steel satin finish blade with jimping to the upper tang. It has the “Ralf Aust Solingen” marking to the tang as well as the marking “Solinger Handarbeit – handmade in Solingen – to the front of the blade. The blade is described as having a French crown, or French point in my terminology, albeit the convex curve is at a steeper angle than the French points found on the Thiers Issard blades. The spine of the razor has an attractive scalloped design while the scales are of horn. The variance in colouring of horn makes each razor unique. All Ralf Aust razors have a full hollow ground blade.
Horn varies considerably in its colouring. The photograph is not of the razor available or representative of the stock we hold at time of purchasing. We have two razors currently in stock, both have scales which are completely black in colour.
