Some of you like an 8/8 razor of which there are not so many options. We have sold many of the Boker and have decided to stock this lovely bocote 8/8 razor from Ralf Aust. This variant has beautiful bocote scales in a contemporary style. It has the usual “Ralf Aust Solingen” mark on the tang and the “Solingen Handarbeit” – handmade in Solingen – mark on the blade. The choice of bocote wood scales is, perhaps, an unusual one but I’m sure you will agree, they are a perfect match for this razor. The blade has a spanish point. As with all Ralf Aust razors this is more of a slight wave than a curve as is the case with spanish point razors from some other manufacturers.
Bocote wood makes for a eye catching razor with its zebra like pattern, dark brown to almost black markings on a mid brown background, especially with the contemporary styling of the scales. The spine has a flower pattern etched along the top which makes for an attractive addition as well as the jimping to both the upper and lower tang. All Ralf Aust razors have a full hollow ground blade.
