Description
These Japanese razors are hand forged by Shigeki Tanaka, a 4th generation master blacksmith based at the Kazuyuki Tanaka Works in Miki Japan, famous for producing high quality kitchen knives. Each razor is made by laminating high carbon blue 2 steel in 16 alternating layers to produce an extremely sharp blade. As is the case with all kamisori, the blade is ground so that the bevel is not equal on both sides. These razors are designed for right handed shavers. The tang is made of stainless steel, bonded onto the blade and wrapped in black nylon cord to provide a firm gripping surface.
The razor weighs 38 g, overall length approx 165mm, the blade edge approx 50mm, and the spine at its widest is approx 50mm.
SHAVE READY – all our razors are individually prepared and supplied shave ready. However in reality, given the condition in which they come from the workshop I rarely need to touch them. For full details see our policy.
