Vintage Inoue Tosuke

£115.00

If I’ve interpreted the markings on this kamisori correctly it is an Inoue Tosuke, though with a handle grip marked Azuma.  Again, if I’ve interpreted correctly this is of Swedish steel, or of a Japanese version of Swedish steel.  The razor is of some age and there is some corrosion as shown in the images. The rubberised handle grip is showing signs of age which again I have sought to show.

Description

If I’ve interpreted the markings on this kamisori correctly it is an Inoue Tosuke, though with a handle grip marked Azuma.  Again, if I’ve interpreted correctly this is of Swedish steel, or of a Japanese version of Swedish steel.  The razor is of some age and there is some corrosion as shown in the images. The rubberised handle grip is showing signs of age which again I have sought to show.

The razor is a regular ‘ichogake’ size with an edge length of  approximately 43mm. Overall length of the razor is some 150 mm.

These razors are manufactured using a combination of softer (Jigane) and harder (Hagane) steels, with the harder steel forming the edge.

A great opportunity to purchase a good quality Japanese razor at a reasonable price.

SHAVE READY – all our razors  are individually prepared and supplied shave ready. However in reality, given the condition in which they come from the workshop I rarely need to touch them. For full details see our policy.
